Jiuniu Cave Reservoir is located in BuKeng Village, SanKeng Town, QingXin District. Originally designed as a small reservoir primarily for irrigation, it has a total capacity of 2.1964 million cubic meters. The project was completed in 1975 and underwent risk elimination and reinforcement in 1996 and 2009, respectively. As the irrigation function of Juniu Cave Reservoir has been completely replaced by the TanKou Water Diversion Project, to make full use of water resources, improve the water environment, and enhance the ecological value of water resources, the reservoir’s normal water level has been lowered, and resources around the reservoir have been developed rationally. This also ensures the safety of the lives and property of the people downstream during flood periods.
