Jiuxian Mountain, located in Dehua, the famous porcelain capital of Fujian, is covered with volcanic rocks, with most of the rock formations exposed, creating an impressive sight. A vast expanse of Huangshan pines thrives on the mountain, presenting a variety of shapes and forms, with the spiral pines and lotus platform pines being particularly remarkable. Wild yew trees are also commonly found on the mountain, growing lush and magnificent, with their photos published in numerous domestic and international pictorial magazines.
The surrounding ridges are covered with pristine secondary forests, providing a canopy that blocks out the sky. Jiuxian Mountain is renowned for its three wonders: sunrise, sea of clouds, and frosty pines, which can only be appreciated with sufficient luck. The mountain weather is ever-changing, featuring spectacular sights such as Buddha’s light, sea of clouds, and rime ice. The scenery is picturesque throughout the seasons, with azalea blooms in spring; green pine and bamboo in summer; red leaves covering the paths in autumn; and hanging jade-like rime ice in winter. The mountaintop is perennially enveloped in mist, with very fresh air, making it an ideal summer retreat. If you plan to climb in the afternoon, it is recommended to bring a long-sleeved shirt to prevent catching a cold. During the climb, you will see the surrounding villa scenery, feel the natural climate difference between the mountain’s base and summit, climb the adventurous ladder, and encounter secluded paths leading to beautiful scenes of clear springs and rocks. The scenic area also offers a variety of hotels and lodgings, but it is advised to book in advance during peak seasons. For those wishing to watch the sunrise and sunset, open-air tents are available, but be mindful that the nights in the mountains can be cooler, and it is recommended to prepare some warm gear. Opening hours are 05:30-17:30 all year round.Preferential policies include:
