Jizhou Kiln is located in Yonghe Town, Ji’an County on the west bank of the middle reaches of the Ganjiang River. It was first fired in the late Tang Dynasty, flourished in the Five Dynasties and the Northern Song Dynasty, and reached its peak in the Southern Song Dynasty. So far, it has a history of more than 1200 years. It is a world-famous comprehensive kiln site in the ancient Jiangnan area of our country.


Its products are diverse in variety and styles. Black glazed porcelain and painted porcelain are highly renowned. Among black glazed porcelain, products such as木叶天目 (wood leaf Tianmu), paper-cut decals, and glaze patterns from kiln variations are even more widely spread around the world and renowned globally. They are listed as cultural relics collections by Japan, South Korea, the United States, the United Kingdom and Southeast Asian countries.


The existing Jizhou Kiln site is one of the large-scale and relatively complete ancient kiln site groups. The site covers an area of 2.8 square kilometers. There are 24 waste kiln piles remaining. The total area of the kiln site is 80,000 square meters, and the accumulation is 726,000 cubic meters. In 2001, it was listed as a national key cultural relics protection unit. The Jizhou Kiln scenic area relies on the existing Jizhou Kiln site resources.


With the purpose of inheriting, protecting, developing and utilizing Luling culture, ceramic culture, religious culture and ancient town culture, adhering to the principle of ‘protection first, utilization second’, it is developed on the premise and foundation of adhering to the protection of large sites. The entire scenic area covers an area of 2.8 square kilometers. It is composed of three major theme areas: commercial area (Dongchang Road Song Street), ceramic culture exhibition area (including Jizhou Kiln Museum, cultural square, viewing stage, ancient village, etc.


) and Jizhou Kiln site park (including Taoyuan, Taoyefang, Qingduguan, Shu Wengxuan, Huanxiuxuan, Benjue Temple Tower, dragon kiln, etc.). It is a comprehensive tourist scenic area integrating culture, tourism, leisure, archaeology and scientific research. Opening hours: Open all year round from 08:30 to 17:30. Preferential policies: Children: Free for children under 6 years old (inclusive) or under 1.

Citizens with moral model courtesy cards issued by the provincial civilization committee can enter for free with valid certificates (‘courtesy cards issued by the provincial civilization committee’ and their ID cards). Moral models can enter for free with courtesy cards. Outstanding high-level talents can enter for free with Jinggang Yingcai service cards. Outstanding teachers can enter for free with their ID cards and red study tour unimpeded cards.
