The Triumph Road Elevator is located at No. 11 Liansheng Alley, Yuzhong District, and it represents the first successful case in China of using an indoor elevator for urban public transportation. The project commenced in January 1985 and was officially put into operation in February 1986 after completion, with a total investment of approximately 1.78 million yuan. The elevator occupies an area of 452 square meters and has a total construction area of 3126 square meters.
It employs a direct current transportation control system, with a car capacity of 21 people, operating at a speed of 2.5 meters per second, and a passenger flow of 25,000 people (times) per day.
The elevator is open to the public from 07:00 to 22:00 all year round. There is a preferential policy for children: those under 1.3 meters in height enter for free.
