He is not only the first Chinese to be honored as a Messenger of Peace by the United Nations but also a musical giant who has collaborated multiple times with top symphony orchestras such as the Berlin Philharmonic, Vienna Philharmonic, and New York Philharmonic. Each of his performances is a display of the ultimate pursuit of music, and every leap of the piano keys is a testament to the endless exploration of art.

At this concert, Lang Lang will perform a series of classic works for us. From Fauré’s ‘Pavane’ to Schumann’s ‘Kreisleriana’, and then to Chopin’s ‘Mazurkas’, each piece is a gem in the history of music. These works not only showcase the extraordinary talent of the composers but also represent the pinnacle of piano performance art. After the intermission, Lang Lang will also bring us Chopin’s ‘Polonaise in F-sharp Minor’, allowing us to feel the infinite charm of music in both passion and tenderness.

1. Fauré’s ‘Pavane’ – This piece, with its elegant melody and profound emotion, demonstrates French composer Fauré’s exquisite mastery of musical form. Under Lang Lang’s interpretation, this dance will spin and leap like a noble dancer on the stage of music, with every note filled with poetry and romance.

2. Schumann’s ‘Kreisleriana’, Op.16 – ‘Kreisleriana’, Op.16 is a set of piano pieces composed by Schumann under his pseudonym ‘Kreisler’, each imbued with different emotional colors. Lang Lang will use his piano sound to delicately depict the fantasies and dreams in these occasional notes, leading us into a musical world full of imagination.

3. Chopin’s ‘Mazurkas’, 12 pieces – ‘Polonaise in F-sharp Minor’, Op.44 – The 12 ‘Mazurkas’ are Chopin’s tribute to Polish folk dances and the most nationally characteristic part of his creations.
Lang Lang’s performance breathes new life into these Mazurkas, allowing us to feel the pulse of the Polish land and hear the love and desire for freedom in the hearts of the Polish people. His rendition of Chopin’s ‘Polonaise in F-sharp Minor, Op.44’ showcases the composer’s profound love for his homeland through its majestic melody and passionate emotion.
