Long Valley Wetland is a freshwater wetland in the northern part of the New Territories, Hong Kong. It is located in Yim Kong, Chung Pak Long and Ho Sheung Heung in the North District, that is, to the northwest of Sheung Shui, covering an area of 25 hectares. This wetland is a major stopover place for migratory birds besides Mai Po. In the 2000s, the Kowloon-Canton Railway planned to build the Lok Ma Chau Spur Line passing through this area, which aroused concerns about the ecological impact on this place. Geographically, the Long Valley area belongs to a floodplain. At present, there are still wet farmlands for growing water spinach and watercress, as well as freshwater ponds such as bloodworm ponds and lotus ponds. These places form various microhabitats and attract some birds that love freshwater wetlands and open places. Open all year round and open all day. The specific business status is subject to the opening situation on that day.
