Laojun Hall is located within Hushan Park in Tai’an City, Taishan District. Originally built during the Tang Dynasty, it was part of the Daiyue Temple and served as a venue for emperors to send Taoist priests to perform sacrificial rituals.

The Tang Dynasty’s Xuanqing sixth year (661 AD), the ‘Daiyue Temple Statue Inscription’ stele (commonly known as the Double Bundle Stele) was originally erected here, recording the events of six emperors and one empress building altars and statues on Mount Tai. In 1968, it was moved to the Dai Temple.

In 2010, the hall was renovated, and now it consists of two courtyards with all buildings being modern reconstructions. The only remaining ancient items are a few old trees and the ‘Inscription on the Renovation of Laojun Hall’ stele.

Outside the temple, there is the famous spring of Mount Tai, known as the ‘Dichun Spring’.
