Liangjiang Happiness Square is located next to Chongqing’s main urban area, adjacent to the larger artificial forest park in the city – the 4300-acre Zhaomu Mountain Forest Park. The square covers an area of 200,000 square meters, including the music fountain square and the square park (formerly known as Bailing Park). It features one of the largest dry spray areas and a suspended music fountain in the country. The fountain has more than 5,500 nozzles, with 6 high sprays capable of simultaneously ejecting 6 water columns reaching up to 60 meters. It is estimated that 1,000 large trees will be planted in and around the square, with 600 already planted. Among them, there are 365 ginkgo trees within the square, symbolizing ‘happiness every day of the year’. Liangjiang Happiness Square combines a music square with a square park, integrating classical and modern elements, as well as traditional and fashionable styles. This unique concept is rarely seen in domestic square designs. Two artificial streams meander from north to south across the square, resembling the Yangtze and Jialing Rivers that encircle and flow tirelessly, symbolizing the ambition of the Northern New District and Liangjiang New District to ride the waves and sail towards the sea. The square’s main attraction is the ‘water dance show’, which combines fountains, lasers, and water curtains. Thousands of nozzles can easily form thousands of water shapes, elegantly performing tens of thousands of songs. The specific business hours are subject to the daily opening conditions. Must-see tip: The fountain opening times at Liangjiang Happiness Square vary between summer and winter. The specific times are: Summer (May 1st – September 30th) Wednesday, Friday, weekends, and holidays from 20:30 to 21:00; Winter (October 1st – April 30th of the following year) Wednesday, Friday, weekends, and holidays from 20:00 to 20:30. (There will be slight adjustments to the specific opening times each year)
