Lianhua Mountain Tourism Area is located in the eastern part of Panyu, Guangzhou, just a few minutes’ drive from Guangzhou Metro Line 4, Beijing-Guangzhou-Macao (Beijing-Zhuhai) Expressway, Nansha Port Expressway, and Lianhua Port. In recent years, Lianhua Mountain Tourism Area has been rated as a national AAAA-level tourist area, a provincial-level scenic spot in Guangdong Province, and one of the eight new scenic spots in the new century of Yangcheng. It is a great choice for visiting ancient sites, appreciating flowers, and vacationing.
The ancient quarry site of Lianhua Mountain is a witness to the 2200-year history of ancient Panyu (Guangzhou). The stone materials were widely used in the construction of government offices, markets, ancestral halls, temples, tombs, etc., and are known as the ‘source of the city’. From the Western Han Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty, for over two thousand years, generations of ancestors in southern Guangdong chiseled and hammered, creating a winding several kilometers of ‘man-made scenery surpassing natural wonders’, especially the Swallow Rock, Lianhua Stone, Lion Stone, White Elephant Rock, Eight Immortals Rock, and Eagle Cliff, which can be regarded as historical treasures of ‘practical work prospering the country’ and are protected as national key cultural relics.

The Lianhua Pagoda was built in the 40th year of the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty (1612) and was originally named ‘Wenchang Pagoda’. The pagoda is 50 meters high, octagonal in shape, with 9 exterior levels and 11 interior levels, and has a statue of Confucius, the ‘model for all ages’, at the top. Lianhua Mountain is a sea of flowers. Around the Spring Festival, the hills are covered with peach blossoms, reflecting the majestic Lianhua Pagoda. Every summer, the Lianhua Tourism and Cultural Festival features more than 500 varieties of lotus from around the world, including ancient lotus, space lotus, and perfume lotus, which have become the favorites of photography enthusiasts.

Thrilling skills, joyful melodies, graceful dances, and charming lotuses complement each other. In spring, there are Bauhinia and wintersweet flowers; in summer, there are Heliotrope and无忧 flowers; in autumn, there are cosmos and marigold flowers; in winter, there are lavender and magnolia flowers. Walking among the mountains and waters, smiles are captured in cameras. The pagoda reflects the sky, and the lotus is uniquely red. Guangzhou Panyu Lianhua Mountain is writing a new chapter of visiting ancient sites, appreciating flowers, and vacationing with its ancient yet thriving new look.
