Liantai Mountain is located in Zhangxia Town, Changqing District, Jinan City. It is named after its peaks surrounding like a city and its shape resembling a lotus terrace. Liantai Mountain is adjacent to Lingyan Temple, the top of the four famous temples in China, in the south, and faces Wufeng Mountain, a famous Taoist resort, in the west. It is 25 kilometers away from Jinan in the north, with unique geographical conditions. Liantai Mountain has beautiful scenery and is known as the ‘first natural botanical garden in northern China’. It is famous for its numerous ancient caves. The seventy-two large and small caves represented by ‘Lou Jing Cave’, ‘Chaoyang Cave’ and ‘Tai Shang Lao Jun Cave’ all have beautiful and magical legends. Here was also a famous Taoist resort from the Song and Yuan Dynasties to the early days after liberation. The remaining historical sites such as ‘Zhang Xian Temple’ on the mountain and the original ‘Sanyuan Palace’, ‘Lü Zu Temple’ and ‘Dongxu Temple’ are cultural relics and scenic spots here. For hundreds of years, with the rise and fall of Taoism several times, few cultural relics and historical sites remain. However, Liantai Mountain still attracts many tourists and scientific researchers with its unique scenery and pleasant climate in all seasons. It is truly a treasure land for leisure and vacation.
Opening hours: Open all year round from 08:00 to 17:00.
