The island is rich in resources and unique in its own way, particularly famous for its oyster production, hence the name Li Jia Shan. Local fishermen refer to it as ‘Oyster Pile.’ Li Jia Shan is an oyster reef that emerges in a vast area of mud, which is unusual as biological reefs typically grow on stones, water gates, and other hydraulic structures. The emergence of such reefs in mud is unheard of and unrecorded in scientific literature. Experts believe this perplexing marine spectacle offers a rare opportunity to study the changes in the mid-latitude ancient oceans over the past 20,000 years, leaving many mysteries for the world and warranting in-depth research. It provides immense value for the development and popularization of marine science knowledge, exploration of marine geology, climate, biological changes, and eco-tourism. The park is open all year round from 08:30 to 17:30, with specific business hours subject to the day’s opening status.
