Lingshan Natural Scenic Area, located 122 kilometers from the capital city, is bordered by the Longmen National Forest Park to the west; connected to the Longmen Gorge Scenic Area to the east; and accessible via National Highway 109 to the south. Due to its elevation, Lingshan forms a unique natural scenic area within an area of 25 square kilometers in Beijing, combining fault-block mountains and folded mountains, with steep and spectacular peaks, and an endless expanse of flowers.
Here, you can find both warm temperate vegetation and vegetation related to the cold regions of Siberia. White birch forests, hazelnuts, yellow flowers, roses, golden lotus, wild leeks, and other plants thrive in this area, with the alpine meadows being particularly famous. They resemble a thick, velvety carpet embroidered with millions of competing flowers. As a result, it serves as a breeding ground for Xinjiang fine-wool sheep, Yili horses, and Qinghai yaks in Beijing and is also a paradise for wildlife.
