Lingtong Mountain, also known as Dafeng Mountain, is located in the southwestern part of Pinghe County, Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province, standing opposite to the higher peak of Zhangzhou, Daqin Mountain. Lingtong Mountain is renowned for its steep peaks, peculiar rocks, clear springs, and floating clouds as its four major features. The natural landscape has been historically known as the ‘Seven Peaks, Ten Temples, and Eighteen Scenes’, but the must-see attraction is the ‘Beaded Curtain of Rain – A Thousand-Meter Waterfall’.
The main attractions on Lingtong Mountain include the Seven Peaks, Ten Temples (Rock Temples), and Eighteen Scenes. Lingtong Temple, situated on Lingtong Rock, is built within a natural stone cave, covered by a flat rock above and surrounded by precipitous cliffs below. There is a ‘Heavenly Ladder’ path that leads up to it, making the location extremely perilous.
Near the temple, there is the ‘Beaded Curtain of Rain’, a spectacular sight where a gentle spring cascades down from a height of dozens of feet, turning into pearl-like droplets. After the rain, the water splashes, resembling a beaded curtain hanging high, creating a beautiful scene. The opening hours are from 08:00 to 20:00 all year round.
