Lingyun Wonderland is located at the heart of Wenzhou, Taizhou, and Lishui, in Yongjia County, known as the land of longevity across the country, and Sha Tou Town, acclaimed as the longevity capital of East China. It lies by the eastern bank of the Nanxi River, at the northern foot of Yandang Mountain, and at the source of Zhenxi River. Named after Lingyun, it originates from Chinese landscape poetry.
In 422 AD, Xie Lingyun, after becoming the governor of Yongjia, was inspired by the beautiful landscapes of Yongjia and composed over 20 landscape poems, establishing the Chinese landscape poetry school, historically known as the ‘pioneer of landscape poetry’. Su Shi once praised Lingyun’s poetic style and Yongjia’s landscapes with the verse: ‘I claim my official post akin to Lingyun, capable of making mountains and rivers resemble Yongjia’.With a soul of a fairyland, follow Zhenxi River upstream to the end of the valley, where green waters leisurely flow away, and green mountains open up facing each other. Wherever you look, peculiar peaks stand tall, clear streams encircle, three brooks converge, nine caves vie for seclusion, and ten waterfalls compete in splendor, resembling a paradise on earth. To this day, tales of immortals remain an important cultural treasure of the scenic area. The scenic area is open all year round from 8:00 to 17:00.
