Lion Peak, with an elevation of 864 meters, is a perilous and spectacular mountain among the nine peaks of Jinyun Mountain. From a distance, it resembles a majestic lion’s head; from below, it looks like a lion lying on a steep ridge, hence the name Lion Peak.
At the front of Lion Peak, there are remains of an ancient fortress. To reach the summit, one must pass through a narrow fortress gate. Behind the gate, there stands a stele inscribed with ‘The Record of Fortification Repairs’, established in the eleventh year of the Xianfeng Emperor (1861). The opening hours are from 09:00 to 17:00 all year round.Lion Peak
