Liuzi Kejia is located in Wenru Alley. During the 24th year of the Guangxu Emperor’s reign in the Qing Dynasty, the Chen family was renowned for having ‘four scholarly sons and six successful candidates in the imperial examinations’. Today, the plaque of ‘Liuzi Kejia’ shines brightly. It is said that the upper frame of the main room’s nanmu wooden door is exquisitely carved with openwork, with nanmu wood panels in the middle depicting cauldrons, vases, basins, and pots. In the second hall, four door panels are finely engraved with flowers, birds, fish, and insects.
