Liuzu Huineng Temple is located beside Zhenshan Scenic Area in Sihui City. The original temple was built in the Tang Dynasty and has a history of more than 1,300 years. When it was renovated in the 14th year of Jiaqing in the Qing Dynasty, the construction area of Liuzu Huineng Temple was more than 600 square meters, with a structure of grey sand spring wall and fir tiles. The overall layout is in the central axis plane, which is composed of the gate, the front hall, the back hall and the wing rooms, corridors and alleys on the left and right. The temple is surrounded by mountains on all sides. The mountains are steep and the scenery is pleasant. In the mountains adjacent to Liuzu Huineng Temple, there are also place names and mountain names related to Liuzu Huineng’s activities at that time, such as “Liuzu Huineng Pool”, “Buddha Hall Top”, “Immortal Road”, and “Ragged Clothes”. Since its completion in the Tang Dynasty, Liuzu Huineng Temple has attracted many devout men and women to pay homage. During festivals, there are as many pilgrims at the temple gate as crucian carp, and the incense is very prosperous. In addition to local believers, many people from the Pearl River Delta also come here to pay homage. It is open from 08:00 to 17:00 all year round.
