Longhaitian, a realm of the dragon, is one of the few excellent coastal tourist destinations in the country. The tourist area boasts lush green belts that undulate like a ‘Green Great Wall’. In summer, it offers an indescribable experience for camping, resting, and enjoying a summer vacation. The sunrise at Longhaitian is a spectacular sight to behold.
Longhaitian is bordered by the South Pacific to the east, where the sea and sky blend seamlessly. The water surface shines with golden sunlight, joyfully leaping in layers of waves, as described by Tagore. That peculiar scene will make you think of many things, as if you have entered a dreamy world.
The cliffs of Longhaitian are long and sandy, with the sea sand being moderately coarse. The seabed has a very gentle slope, and the seawater is clear to the bottom, unpolluted, allowing objects to be seen at a depth of 8 meters. For 80% of the year, southeast winds blow towards the coast, creating light winds and gentle waves that are seven or eight layers deep.
Donghai Island is the fifth largest island in China, and Longhaitian is located on its east side. Longhaitian Beach, which is 28 kilometers long and 150-300 meters wide, is second only to Australia’s Gold Coast in terms of size.
Longhaitian is open all year round from 7:30 to 19:30. An essential tip to remember is that when mentioning Longhaitian, it refers to direct express buses. Those heading southeast are passing through; it is important to clarify whether they reach Donghai Island, as some do not.
