Longhu Gorge Rafting in Chongqing is located in Anlan Town, Banan District, near the main city. The total length of the rafting course is about 5.5 kilometers, with an overall drop of up to 180 meters and a continuous drop of over 1000 meters, taking approximately 1.5 hours to complete. The area is characterized by its clear waters, green mountains, and picturesque scenery, with lush willows and vibrant flowers.


In May of this year, the topic of ‘checking in at Longhu Gorge Rafting’ topped the hot search list, and Longhu Gorge ranked seventh on the ‘Chongqing Parent-Child Attractions List’. It is accessible by car from the main city in about an hour, and public transportation is convenient, allowing for spontaneous rafting adventures with ample and clean water sources. The scenic area is equipped with comprehensive facilities, including a large parking lot, visitor service center, rest areas, shower areas, and changing rooms.


Visitors can experience the refreshing coolness of summer amidst the green ecology, layered green mountains, misty clouds, and the backdrop of the blue mountains. The upper section is known as the Warrior Rafting: the river course is treacherous and bumpy, with a large volume of water, rapid flow, high drops, and numerous continuous drops. The 15-meter drop rafting is also located in this section, offering thrilling experiences.


Thrilling rapids stretch for over a thousand meters, with continuous screams echoing in your ears, allowing you to fully experience the whirlwind and agitation of Chongqing’s landscape from a unique perspective. Here, you are lifted high by the rapids, with only the blue sky surrounded by the Longhu Gorge and the splashing water on your face, providing a cool and exhilarating sensation. The lower section is designed for family rafting: to provide a safe environment for children to play in water and to better experience the fun of rafting, Longhu Gorge Rafting Scenic Area has specially established a children’s rafting channel, creating a paradise for family rafting! The children’s rafting channel is located downstream in the lower section, where the terrain is flat, the water flow is gentle, the air is fresh, and the atmosphere is tranquil and serene.


After adults experience the thrilling rafting upstream, they can pass through the children’s area and bring their children to this special children’s rafting channel for rafting and water play, enjoying the joy of family time while ensuring safety. The full opening hours are from August 20th to August 31st, open from 12:00 to 16:00 on weekdays (Monday to Friday); and from 10:00 to 16:00 on weekends (Saturday and Sunday).

Essential tips for rafting: Rafting is a popular sport and leisure tourism activity. Please read the visitor’s guide carefully before purchasing tickets: 1) Rafting will definitely get you completely wet, so please change into rafting attire before departure, and wear sandals with straps that do not expose your toes.


Wearing flip-flops, leather shoes, high heels, or going barefoot while rafting is strictly prohibited. If you do not have the appropriate attire, it can be purchased at the supermarket.


2. There are no journalist tickets, student tickets, or senior citizen tickets for the drifting project. Military officer certificates and tour guide certificates do not entitle holders to free admission. All tourists must purchase full-price tickets to participate.

3. Children under 1.5 meters and the elderly over 60 years old are not allowed to participate in the whole drifting process. Tourists under 18 years old should drift under the accompaniment of guardians. Children from 1.1 to 1.5 meters can participate in children’s drifting under the accompaniment of guardians.


4. Drunken people, pregnant women, people with heart disease, high blood pressure, dementia, osteoporosis, epilepsy, cervical and lumbar spine diseases, hypoglycemia, acrophobia and other tourists who are not suitable for drifting sports are not allowed to participate in drifting.


5. The drifting river is turbulent. Electrical products, valuables, and fragile items are strictly prohibited from being carried with you during drifting. (In case of loss or damage of electrical products, valuables, and fragile items during drifting, the scenic area will not be responsible for compensation). After purchasing tickets, please rent a locker and store your items in the storage room; or take proper care of them by yourself.


6. After purchasing tickets, please wait in the rest area and follow the staff’s arrangements to line up and take the transfer vehicle to the starting point in order.


7. At the starting point, staff will distribute life jackets and safety helmets. Please listen carefully to the staff’s explanation of the correct use methods of life jackets and helmets. After wearing them properly, participate in drifting.


8. After wearing all the drifting equipment and being checked by the staff, two people form a raft and follow the staff’s instructions to participate in drifting in the correct sitting way. Remember the precautions during drifting. It is strictly prohibited to drift with three people or one person in a raft. If there are children from 1.1 to 1.5 meters participating in children’s drifting, the children can participate in drifting on the raft of their guardians at the starting point of children’s drifting. Each raft can accommodate three people including adults and children.


9. For your safety, do not take off your helmet to play with water or swim in the river during drifting. Do not take off your life jacket under any circumstances. If you need help, please call the river safety officer.


10. During drifting, please pay attention to the warning signs on both sides of the river. When encountering drop prompts during drifting, please hold the safety handle in time, exert force with your feet, and tilt your body towards the boat to ensure safety first.


11. Do not do dangerous actions during drifting. It is strictly prohibited to play and make noise. There must be a safe distance between rafts. Do not actively grab floating objects in the water or grass, trees, and stones on the shore. When the raft is stuck, do not stand up in a hurry. You should stabilize the raft, hold the safety handle tightly, and shake the raft vigorously to pass. In case of ‘capsizing’, please immediately release the safety handle, curl up your body, hold your breath, and be careful not to choke on water. The life jacket can make your body float. The safety personnel and other staff in the gorge area will surely arrive as soon as possible to help you.


12. When reaching the end of drifting, tourists should return life jackets and helmets. If the life jacket or helmet is damaged, compensation must be made according to the price.
Upon concluding your rafting adventure, please proceed to the reception center to shower and change, marking the end of your delightful rafting journey.
