Longhuang Palace is located beside Longtan Lake, originally constructed during the Wanli era of the Ming Dynasty and rebuilt in 2003, with a history of over 400 years. Inside the palace, the Dragon King Mother is enshrined, flanked by child attendants and mythical soldiers, with murals depicting the legend of the Little Dragon Girl adorning the walls. It is said that during a severe drought in Ningbo, Guo Ju came to Longtan Lake on Peach Blossom Island to ask the Little Dragon Girl for rain. The Little Dragon Girl responded by bringing rain to relieve the drought, and in gratitude, the people of Guo Ju built Longhuang Palace beside the lake. Every year, numerous islanders continue the tradition of visiting to draw lots, praying for favorable weather and safety. The opening hours and business status are subject to the day’s availability.
