Longpan Temple is a renowned historical site in Jinhua, located in Zhongrou Village, Xiaoshun Town, eastern Jinhua County, 32 kilometers west of Jinhua City, and 27 kilometers east of Yiwu City. It is bordered by the continuous Nanshan Mountains to the south and the clear waters of the Wu River to the north, covering an area of 11.8 square kilometers.

Longpan Temple has a rich history, dating back to the Liang Dynasty’s Tianjian era (502-519 AD), making it over 1400 years old. The temple once had over 120 rooms, with a grand and magnificent architectural complex that was truly impressive. During the Anti-Japanese War, Longpan Temple served as the base for the Jinhua Brigade of the Zhejiang East Guerrilla Forces.

After more than a millennium of changes, Longpan Temple has taken on a new look. Particularly since 1996, Xiaoshun Town has established the Longpan Temple Scenic Area Management Committee, which has unified planning and overall development for the temple, turning a new page in the better utilization of scenic resources. Thanks to the relentless efforts of the committee members and its advantageous geographical location, Longpan Temple has become a well-known scenic and historical area with Buddhism as its main culture, yet not losing its modern style.
