Longtan Temple is nestled in a valley close to the west of Yuhuan County, originally constructed during the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, initially named Jixian Pavilion. It was later renamed to Guanyin Hall during the third year of the Xuantong era of the Qing Dynasty, and expanded to its current form as Longtan Temple starting in 1986.
The temple consists of three main structures: the front is the Vajra Hall, the middle is the Mahavira Hall, and the rear is the Triple Sage Pavilion. Within the temple, there is a white jade reclining statue of Sakyamuni Buddha from Myanmar, gracefully lying on a lotus patterned stone seat.
