Longtian Shi Ju is located in Tianduanxin Village, Kengzi Town, and is one of the more intact Hakka residences preserved in the Longgang area. Its architectural style is distinctive, with a pond resembling a moat in front of the enclosure, and a semi-circular riverbank forming a ‘turtle-back’ pattern with the outer wall, which is rare among local earth buildings.
Longtian Shi Ju was constructed in the 17th year of the Daoguang Emperor of the Qing Dynasty (1837) by the Huang family, who migrated from Mei County. The scale and momentum of the residence are grand, and its internal structure is rigorous. It is open to the public all year round from 09:30 to 20:00.
