The Longwan Seaside Scenic Area covers an area of about 15 square kilometers, with a core area of 2.5 square kilometers. It is like a dragon lying by the sea, with a dragon body, dragon tail, dragon claws, and a dragon head (now Longtou Village). The main tourist attractions of the scenic area are composed of beaches, rocks, caves, tidal flats, mountains and forests, and water bodies. The scenic area takes returning to nature as its theme. At present, a 7-kilometer tourist trail has been developed. Beisha, Nansha, and Zhumensha are connected to form a coastal scenic line. Beisha is more than 300 meters long and 100 meters wide. When the tide is out, the area is more than 10,000 square meters. It is the main beach of the scenic area. Nansha is more than 160 meters long and has an area of more than 4,000 square meters. Zhumensha is 12 meters long and is also called a pocket beach. Watching the sea during the day and listening to the sound of the waves at night are unique pleasures of Longwan Seaside. Feng Gengxue, a tourist in the Qing Dynasty, praised it as having the reputation of ‘scenery directly topping southeast China’ and ‘natural geological museum’. Open all year round and open all day.
