Longwangtan Ecological Tourism Area, located 22 kilometers northeast of Lechang City, integrates hot springs, clear lakes, and peculiar mountains, also known as Sanlong Valley, representing a unique combination of advantageous resources in Guangdong. It is also a national AAA-level tourist attraction, a demonstration base for forest ecological tourism in Guangdong Province, an ecological demonstration park in Guangdong Province, a demonstration base for national tourism and leisure in Guangdong Province, a base for the education of party history of the Communist Party of China in Guangdong Province, a base for the education of party history of the Communist Party of China in Shaoguan City, and a forest health base in Shaoguan City. It is also one of the practice bases for research education of primary and secondary school students in Lechang City and a field teaching point for red education.
Within the area, there are high mountains and lush forests, deep canyons, rapid streams, and waterfalls that return to the pools. The place is known for its green mountains and clear waters, bird songs and cicada chants, and dances of butterflies and bees, making it a magical place of pure beauty. Here, the mountains and waters depend on each other, with the original forest ecology well protected. The air is fresh and sweet, with an extremely high content of negative ions, 103988 per cubic centimeter, and a high oxygen molecule content of 21.3%. The water temperature is maintained at 17-20 degrees throughout the year, with a forest coverage rate of 92%, earning the reputation of a summer retreat in the ‘mountain canyon’ and a natural oxygen bar for health and wellness.
