Longwei Village is located in Xitou Township, Wuyuan County, and is a relatively ancient village that still retains many ancient Huizhou-style buildings. It is said that Longwei Village is the source of the stone for one of the four famous inkstones, known as the ‘Longwei Inkstone’.

Longwei Village is quite small, so small that one can see from one end of the village to the other from the village entrance. The architecture in the village is naturally inseparable from the Huizhou style—blue bricks, white walls, and horse-head walls.

Behind the village, there is a river with water as green as jade and clear and pure; at the foot of the mountains on the riverbank, there are green bamboo and trees, and red leaves that look like fire. As the breeze blows, the red leaves fall gracefully and follow the waves, creating a beautiful picture in the shimmering light and shadow.
