Longxi Town is located in the northwest of Wushan County, Chongqing City, connected by road with the Wushan-Wuxi highway, and is 91 kilometers away from the county town.
Since the Warring States period, Longxi Town has been an important salt-producing area and was once the base for the Lower Sichuan East Guerrilla Force, with a memorial standing within its territory. The ancient town’s Sichuan East Contact Station is well preserved. The town features several old streets with numerous historical sites, including the ‘Heaven-Bestowed City’ built by Southern Song military and civilians to resist the Yuan army, and the flood control embankment from the Qing Daoguang period, both of which are worth visiting.
