Longyou Temple

Longyou Temple is located on Longyou Mountain in Jinsha Village, Tongxi Town, Hechuan District, Chongqing City. Originally established during the Han and Tang dynasties and known as Huayan Temple and Hong’en Temple, it was reconstructed during the Southern Song Dynasty in the Chunxi era. The temple complex features a crisscross layout with a main cruciform structure. From south to north, there are the Wenchang Hall, Jieying Hall, Bodhi Hall, Guanyin Hall, and Dizang King Hall; from east to west, there are the Bilu Hall, Mahavira Hall, Ancient Buddha Hall, and the resplendent Cangjin Tower, as well as a spacious Five Hundred Arhats corridor and numerous monk’s rooms.
