Lu Xun’s Ancestral Home, also known as ‘Zhou Family’s Old Taimen’, is a south-facing residence with a history of 250 years. It is one of the well-preserved Qing Dynasty buildings in Shaoxing to date. The entire complex covers an area of nearly 3,000 square meters and is a typical residence of an official’s family in the Jiangnan region. It consists of four main sections: the Taimen Dou, the main hall, the incense hall, and the rear building, with side buildings on both the east and west. During his time in Shaoxing, Lu Xun would always visit the Old Taimen to pay his respects and pay visits on holidays and the anniversaries of his ancestors. It is open to the public all year round from 08:30 to 17:00.
