Luchao Port is located on the west coast of the Pacific Ocean. It is the intersection of the East China Sea and Hangzhou Bay. To the south, it faces Mount Putuo, Shengsi, and the islands of Da Yangshan and Xiao Yangshan across the sea. To the north, it is connected to the Yangtze River estuary. With Luchao Port as the center, one can directly reach islands such as Mount Putuo, Shengsi, and Zhoushan.


Therefore, it is also known as Shanghai’s ‘back garden’. Here, the water is deep and the waves are calm. It has the reputation of being the ‘Cape of Good Hope on the Western Pacific’.
