Lujiang Academy is located in the west of Liling City, nestled against the mountains and by the water, offering a tranquil environment.
Based on the ancient sites of the Song, Yuan, and Ming dynasties’ academic palaces, Lujiang Academy was established in the 18th year of the Qianlong era (1753), covering an area of 7000 square meters.
The academy operated from its founding until the abolition of the imperial examination system at the end of the Qing Dynasty, spanning 151 years.
In the 30th year of the Guangxu era (1904), the academy was transformed into Lujiang School, which has been in use ever since.
Opening hours are Tuesday to Sunday from 09:00 to 12:00 and 13:00 to 17:00; closed all day on Mondays. Entry is not allowed after 11:30 in the morning and after 16:30 in the afternoon.
