Located in Sanxiang Town, Zhongshan City. The name Luo Sanmei Mountain originates from a local legend. It is said that in the Yongmo Village at the foot of the mountain, there was a girl named Luo Sanmei who lost her father at a young age and came from a very poor family. Her mother was chronically ill and bedridden, but Luo Sanmei was extremely filial, tirelessly attending to her mother. When Luo Sanmei was 14 years old, her mother passed away. Overwhelmed with grief, she did not eat for more than ten days and died of sorrow. To commemorate this filial daughter, the people named the mountain ‘Luo Sanmei Mountain’. On the summit stands a small stone temple, the Luo Xiangu Temple, which was built during the Guangxu period. The temple’s pillars are engraved with the couplet: ‘The sound of Jinhua surprises the stone, the trace of Langhuan overlooks the boiling spring’. Behind the temple, there are huge boulders, stacked and precarious, like piled eggs, and when struck with a stone, they sound like drums. Between the boulders, there is only a thin crack, and when one looks up, only a strip of blue sky is visible, hence the name ‘A Thread of Sky’. On the left side of the mountain, there is a huge rock that resembles a reclining yellow ox. It is said that this ox was originally herded by Luo Sanmei, and after she became an immortal, the ox turned into a huge rock. The mountain is open all year round, 24 hours a day, subject to the actual situation on the day.
