LuoGang Fragrant Snow Park is located in LuoGang Town, Baiyun District, and is known as one of the ‘Eight Sceneries of Yangcheng’ with the name ‘LuoGang Fragrant Snow’. The park features rolling hills and ridges that stretch for tens of miles. Every year at the end of the year when the plum blossoms are in full bloom, the mountains are covered with a profusion of flowers as white as snow, fluttering with the wind, creating a spectacular sight.
In addition to the appreciation of plum blossoms, the historical sites here are also noteworthy. Under the Luo Peak within the park, there stands the Luo Peak Temple, and next to it is the Yuyan Academy, which houses inscriptions and calligraphic works from celebrities after the Song Dynasty. The main attractions include the inscription of ‘Loyalty, Filial Piety, Integrity, and Frugality’ by the Song Dynasty Confucian Zhu Xi, the four quatrains believed to be handwritten by Wen Tianxiang, and the four seasons of bamboo carvings by Qing Dynasty artist Zheng Banqiao, all of which add a rich cultural atmosphere.
The park is open all year round and is accessible 24 hours a day.
