Luohan Creek is located within Songgang Street, ranking as the second largest river in Xiapu County, just 7 kilometers away from the county town. The main stream is 38 kilometers long, originating from Yangtian Tubuotou Village in Boyang Township, flowing from northwest to southeast. It passes through Hengjiang, Xinan, and Yangshaxi, converging with Tongyou Creek at Xiagang Street, Wu Kengyan, and then exits into Hougang Sea through Shuimokeng and Daqiaotou. The creek is named after the Luohan Mountain it flows through.
The scenic area, centered around the natural ecological landscape along the lower reaches of Luohan Creek, extends from: ① Wu Kengyan to Longtan Temple upstream for 1.5 kilometers, ② from the confluence of Wu Kengyan and Tongyou Creek to Yangshaxi upstream for a total of 3.5 kilometers. It reaches as far as Qiaotou Village, with a river length of 12.8 kilometers, and the first range of mountains on both banks of the stream, covering an area of approximately 26 square kilometers.
The scenic area boasts a rich and beautiful array of natural landscapes, including peculiar peaks, strange rocks, canyons, glacial pots, waterfalls, clear streams, green pools, bamboo forests, ancient trees, egrets, as well as numerous cultural landscapes such as Taoist temples, Buddhist temples, and ancient bridges, along with folk tales. The magical and perilous river canyons, combined with the serene and elegant clear streams and bamboo forests, form a natural ecological landscape that is extraordinary, dangerous, beautiful, and charming. The glacial pot groups are distinctive and valuable for geographical research, making this area rich in tourism resources.
