Luohan Rock Scenic Area boasts a uniquely beautiful landscape where mountains and waters coexist, clear pools resemble mirrors, and steep cliffs and peculiar rocks are scattered throughout. Especially during spring and summer, the area is filled with blooming wildflowers and fluttering butterflies. After the rain, rainbows reflect on the rippling lake surface, blending the sky and water into one, making visitors feel as if they have stepped into a naturally formed landscape painting.
Luohan Rock’s exceptional scenery has attracted numerous celebrities throughout history. Su Dongpo, a renowned scholar of the Song Dynasty, praised the area’s beauty during his exile to Lingnan. Wang Mingyang, a talented figure from the Ming Dynasty, also left many poems in admiration of the scenic beauty, one of which reads: ‘Ancient Mianjiang’s eight great scenes, famous across the land and spread across the nine provinces, are the colors of Chen Stone’s landscape, and after viewing them, there is no Huangshan in one’s heart.’ In the poem, ‘Chen Stone’ is another name for Luohan Rock.
