On a small hill to the northeast of Luo Jia Mountain stands a lighthouse. This is the legendary ‘Luo Jia Mountain lights’! This lighthouse was built during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty. At that time, it was only a celestial lantern platform. For hundreds of years, it has been guiding ships on their voyages. It was once one of the twelve scenic spots of Putuo in ancient times. The ancients praised it as ‘A glimmering light illuminates the lost way, its radiance outshines the sun and moon wheels of Mount Sumeru’. When traveling through mountains and seas, there is no need for the sun and moon. A small light is already sufficient! Nowadays, the celestial lantern platform has been rebuilt into an international lighthouse. After nightfall, on the Zhoushan fishing ground in front of the lighthouse, the mast lights of fishing boats are all lit up, reflecting the light of the lighthouse and illuminating this sea and sky thoroughly, which is truly spectacular.

Open all year round and all day long. Only the exterior can be visited.
