One of the performances of the 2024-25 concert season of the Macao Orchestra, the ‘Starry Night, Lawn, Symphony’ concert, will be staged at the square of the Macao Cultural Centre at 7:45 pm on Saturday, November 16. Led by Lio Kuok Man, music director and chief conductor of the Macao Orchestra, the Macao Orchestra will join hands with the internationally renowned Grammy ‘trumpet king’ Chris Botti to present an open-air concert that combines popular classics and jazz elements. American trumpet player and composer Chris Botti, known as the ‘trumpet king’, has embarked on his career as a professional musician since high school. His superb skills have been highly recognized over the years and he has accumulated countless fans. In addition to jazz, he is also eclectic in his playing and is at ease among different music genres, spanning jazz, rock, pop, classical and other fields. Since his debut in 1995, he has received many awards. He won the Grammy Award for ‘Best Pop Instrumental Album’ for his album ‘Impressions’. The ‘Starry Night, Lawn, Symphony’ concert is also the first outdoor lawn concert held by the Macao Orchestra. Audiences are welcome to have picnics on site and enjoy the fun with relatives and friends, experiencing a viewing experience different from that in the concert hall.
