The Macau Science Center features 13 long-term exhibitions with interactive exhibits that combine knowledge, science, and fun. The 360-degree dome theater allows audiences to freely travel among the universe and stars. Check out the new attraction in Macau – the Heart-shaped Tree Square. The Macau Science Center is designed by renowned architect I.M. Pei. The main body consists of an inclined cone, a hemisphere, and a rhombus base. The functions of these three parts are exhibition hall, planetarium, and conference center respectively. The exterior wall of the building is finished with silver-gray metal aluminum panels and complemented by dark granite. From a distance, it has a strong scientific flavor.
The exhibition center has a total area of about 5,800 square meters for 14 exhibition halls and the atrium. The themes of the 13 long-term exhibition halls include astronomical science, children’s paradise, children’s science, maritime science, biodiversity, intelligent technology, acoustics, physical mechanics, the spirit of Chinese scientists, sustainable development hall, data science, and electricity and electromagnetism hall. The remaining one is a special exhibition hall with timely replacement. The exhibitions mainly feature interactive exhibits that combine knowledge, science, and fun, allowing visitors to enjoy the fun of exploring science through hands-on activities.

The planetarium has a tilted hemispherical screen with a diameter of about 15 meters in the center. It is equipped with a set of high-definition stereoscopic digital projectors and 127 seats equipped with interactive control buttons. When the audience wears special glasses equipment, they can see the stereoscopic images projected on the giant dome screen. The huge database and projection effect of the planetarium allow the audience to freely travel among the universe and stars. This set of equipment can also project digital dome films, making the planetarium a multifunctional dome theater.
