Malanwan Bay, located on the eastern coast of Malan Village on Dongshan Island, is a naturally beautiful and large bay. The bay stretches for 2,500 meters in a crescent shape, with Mazu Mountain at the northern end and Chiyu, Touyu, Eryu, and Sanyu islands at the southeastern corner.

The seawater in Malanwan Bay is gentle, without hidden reefs, and has less pollution and smaller waves. The beach is soft, white, and has enclosed beaches for bathing, making it ideal for swimming and playing.

Due to its popularity among group tours to Dongshan Island, Malanwan Bay tends to be crowded during holidays. For those interested, they can leave the bustling crowds and head to the distant rocky shores to catch crabs and collect sea stones, but safety must be a priority.

Additionally, Malanwan Bay features a marine sports club where visitors can enjoy the sun, seawater, and beach while experiencing the thrill of windsurfing and surfing. For instance, Red Coral Diving Club offers sightseeing trips by sailboat or tandem water bikes for approximately 60 RMB per person (price for reference), lasting about 20 minutes. The club also offers diving and motorboat activities; prices can be inquired at the beach.

As dusk falls, beach management staff will urge swimmers to leave the water for safety reasons, as swimming is not allowed at the beach after dark. Visitors staying on the island can return to their hotel for a shower and then find a seaside food stall to enjoy dinner. These stalls are known for their authenticity, fresh seafood, and affordable prices.

The bay is open all year round, 24 hours a day, but swimming is not permitted at the beach at night.
