Mangshan Scenic Area of the Thirteen Tombs National Forest Park is located in the northeast of Changping County, Beijing, to the east of the Thirteen Tombs Reservoir, approximately 40 kilometers away from the city center of Beijing. It is part of the Yanshan Mountains and the Jundu Mountains. The name ‘Mangshan’ is derived from the undulating mountain ridges that resemble a giant python. The park boasts numerous attractions, including the Central Leaders’ Tree Planting Memorial Forest, Stone Carved Buddha, Colorful Corridors, and a Summit Viewing Platform, from which one can enjoy distant views of the capital and close-up views of the mountains and waters.

It encompasses 130,000 acres of artificial forests and more than 170 varieties of famous trees and flowers, remaining lush and splendid throughout the year, making it a renowned national forest park in Beijing. The park achieves the grand sight of ‘five views’ in one place, capturing the vastness and magnificence of the capital, the sea of forests, the sky pool, the starry sky, and the Ming Dynasty’s Thirteen Tombs. Adhering to the theme of ‘ecology, life, living,’ the Mangshan Scenic Area of the Thirteen Tombs National Forest Park focuses on building green mountains and waters, showcasing the perfect integration of natural mountain ranges and artificial afforestation. It is an excellent place to promote ecological civilization and allow citizens to enjoy the benefits of greenery. Opening hours are from 08:00 to 18:00 all year round.
