Maocaoba Grassland, located 25 kilometers east of Xinglong Town in Fengjie County, is a subtropical alpine meadow with an average altitude of approximately 1700 meters, where summer temperatures are maintained around 18 degrees Celsius.


Maocaoba is not only a place of breathtaking natural scenery but also famous for its unique geographical location and abundant natural resources. The area comprises main grasslands such as Huoshao Erba and Huanglian Ba, covering a total area of 20.1 square kilometers. In spring and summer, wildflowers bloom in a riot of colors, and by early autumn, the grasslands display a spectrum of colors that stretch to the horizon. In the depths of winter, heavy snowfall blankets the landscape in a coat of silver, presenting a captivating scene.


Within Maocaoba, there is an artificial lake covering 800 acres with a water storage capacity of 1.5 million cubic meters. Surrounded by mountains, scented with wildflowers, and filled with the songs of various birds, it is an ideal spot for outdoor camping.


Beyond its natural beauty, Maocaoba also boasts a rich cultural and historical background. Named for its geographical location, it is situated above 1500 meters in elevation and borders Wu County and Jianshi County in Hubei, showcasing a wealth of geographical and cultural diversity. The essence of Maocaoba’s scenery lies in its tranquility, simplicity, and pristine nature, with each season offering unique beauty that attracts numerous visitors to enjoy and experience. The grassland is open year-round from 08:30 to 18:00.
