In 1936, officials, businessmen, scholars and common people in Yantai, when raising funds to repair the Dragon King Temple, renovated a collapsed low house in the south courtyard of the original Dragon King Temple into the Martyr Shrine. The Martyr Shrine faces south, consisting of a main hall, east and west wing rooms and a gate to form a closed courtyard. The main hall enshrines the statues of Guan Yu, a famous general of the Three Kingdoms period, and Yue Fei, a famous general of the Song Dynasty. On the east side are enshrined Guan Ping and Zhou Cang. On the west side are enshrined Yue Fei and Zhang Xian. The west wing is the exhibition of ‘Eternal Loyalty and Martyrdom’. The specific business hours and opening status are subject to the opening situation on that day.
