Mashishan Mountain is one of the famous mountains in Jiaodong. It is located in the northwest of Rushan City. Here, the peaks and ridges are lofty, the mountains are steep, the forests are dense, and there are many grotesque rocks and numerous wonders. It retains the unique beautiful style of the original mountain forest and is one of the scenic spots in Rushan City. Mashishan Mountain is also the place where the appalling ‘Mashishan Massacre’ created by the Japanese army during the Anti-Japanese War occurred. In 1972, the Rushan County government built a martyrs’ cemetery on Mashishan Mountain to commemorate the compatriots who died tragically and display the heroic deeds of many martyrs such as the ten brave soldiers for people to pay their respects and mourn the heroic spirits. Today, at Mashishan Mountain, the orchards at the foot are fragrant, and the pines and cypresses on the mountain are verdant. The revolutionary martyrs’ memorial tower towering majestically on the main peak and the solemn revolutionary martyrs’ memorial hall on the sunny slope add a sense of solemnity to this beautiful Mashishan Mountain. The Mashishan Martyrs’ Cemetery has become an important patriotic education base. Opening hours: Open all year round from 8:00 to 16:30.
