The Mazu Giant Stone Statue is located near Fu’ao Port in Nangan, Matsu. It stands as high as 28.8 meters. In recent years, the local government has been highlighting the Mazu tourism brand, which has become one of the main axes of local tourism development. The connection between Meizhou, the birthplace of Mazu, and Matsu, the place of Mazu’s spiritual burial site, has brought great tourism benefits. Therefore, the “Mazu Cultural Festival” is held every year. Legend has it that Matsu Island is the place where Mazu (whose common name is Lin Moniang) attained enlightenment. Later, the villagers in Meizhou welcomed back Mazu’s remains and left a cenotaph on Matsu Island. Open time: Open 24 hours a day throughout the year
