The four-story Spanish-style villa facing south at No. 87 Sinan Road is the former residence of Mei Lanfang. The fourth floor was occupied by Mei Lanfang’s mother-in-law and daughter. The couple lived on the third floor. The second floor was the bedrooms and kitchen of their sons. The ground floor was the garage and the living quarters of the servants. In those days, in front of the small building that was simple yet quite warm, there were always many flowers and plants. The front yard had a patch of green grass, exuding leisure and comfort. During his residence on Sinan Road, Mei Lanfang rehearsed operas such as ‘Fight Against the Jin Troops’ and ‘The Eternal Regret’.
