Located at the southeast foot of the Songpu Mountain to the northwest of Anbu Town, Mei Lin Lake is embraced by the villages of Guolong, Panlong, and Fenglong. The lake spans over 300 acres with a depth of several fathoms. A landmass protrudes in the southeast of the lake, known as the heart of the lake, covering approximately 80 acres. Surrounding the lake, green crops flourish year-round, and the fragrance of rice and soybeans fills the air. Nearby attractions include ancient marine erosion stones, Zhongli Cave, Baiyun Rock, and Stone Forest. As early as 6000 years ago, the area around Mei Lin Lake was part of a bay. Due to the sedimentation of the Han River and the weathering of the silt from Songpu Mountain, the land had formed 2000 years ago. The northwest of Mei Lin Lake, at the southern foot of Niutou Mountain, features a variety of ancient marine erosion stones shaped by the sea waves. The existing marine erosion stones are scattered among the hills and fields, resembling mushrooms, dolphins, sheep heads, carps, sea turtles, sails, and clams. These ancient marine erosion stones by the Mei Lin Lake are crucial historical materials for studying the coastal geomorphological changes in Chaozhou. Tip: Due to environmental pollution and human destruction, the most beautiful scenery at Mei Lin Lake is now best appreciated in autumn. The lake is open all year round, accessible 24 hours a day.
