Meteorological Museum

The Meteorological Museum was originally called Tainan Observatory. It is a building with a peculiar appearance and is also known as a pepper tube. The tube in the middle is the ‘wind tower’. In the past, staff would climb the wind tower regularly and observe the amount, direction, and visibility of clouds with the naked eye. On days with good weather, they could see as far as 30 to 40 kilometers away. Daily note monitoring is carried out. Nowadays, these original materials are exhibited in the museum, and there are also many historical relics and meteorological knowledge on display.
