The pagoda, a Buddhist building with origins in India, was introduced to China during the Eastern Han Dynasty. Since its introduction, it has been increasingly integrated with China’s strong traditional cultural customs. This integration is evident in the evolution of its form and function, as well as the constant renovation of its appearance styles, leading to the formation of distinct Chinese characteristics in the building structure.
The cast iron pagoda finial remnant, dating back to the Ming Dynasty, specifically from the seventh year of Wanli, is an ancient artifact. It was replaced during the Baoshu Pagoda’s repair in April 1997.
Regarding visiting hours, the pagoda is open all day, every day, throughout the year.
