Ming Garden is one of the five major expatriate gardens. Once characterized by two red-brick, three-story buildings with iron decorations and L-shaped balconies, it was home to overseas Chinese and known as a ‘Western-style villa’ due to the scarcity of buildings in the vicinity. Now obscured by a new white building, it has become a private residence. Visitors can only reminisce about its former glory by the handwritten ‘Ming Garden’ sign at the entrance and the faint outline of the buildings.
