The 1942 Scenic Area, inspired by the streets of Chongqing in the movie ‘One Nine Four Two’, gathers 91 buildings that embody the typical architectural styles of Shanghai, Nanjing, Wuhan, and Chongqing, four major cities in the Yangtze River basin from the 1920s to the 1940s. Among them, 25 buildings are fully restored according to old photographs, including Xishan Bell Tower, Chongqing Guotai Theater, Shanghai Rongguang Grand Theater, and more. Each building has a story behind it, evoking memories and aftertaste.

The scenic area includes features such as a screen wall, basketball court, rehearsal hall and practice room, swimming pool, changing rooms, prop room, and military supply depot. To ensure the accurate restoration of the era’s background, the scenic area, from design to construction and decoration, from the red slogans visible everywhere in the scenic area to a tile in the swimming pool, strictly adheres to the Chinese style and characteristics of the 1970s, making people feel as if they are on the spot.
